04Spelling: Prefixes, Suffixes & Word OriginsStudents apply knowledge of prefixes, suffixes and word origins to spell complex and technical words. Greek and Latin roots are introduced to explain meaning and spelling patterns. Students break unfamiliar words into meaningful parts. Dictionary use is reinforced. Spelling is applied in writing tasks.
05Objective vs Subjective LanguageStudents distinguish between objective language that reports facts and subjective language that expresses opinions or bias.
